Planned upgrades to the Limassol General hospital are still in the evaluation stage, as "Valuable time is being lost due to appeals"

A serious traffic accident in Limassol on Sunday lunchtime injured three women who were standing on the street.

According to police, the accident happened at around 12.20 in the Mesa Yitonia area of Limassol when, under circumstances still being investigated, two cars crashed.

As a result of the crash, one vehicle span out of control towards the wall of a house, hitting three women who were on the pavement. Another two women were also at the spot but were not hurt.

First reports suggest two of the women were only lightly hurt while the third had serious injuries to the legs.

All three women were taken to Limassol general hospital for treatment.
