Police issue call for information on man seriously injured on bike path

Limassol traffic police on Thursday are looking into an incident involving a cyclist who was found injured Monday.

According to police statement, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday police received a report about a serious traffic accident that had occurred on June 19, on the coastal cycle path in Limassol.

According to the information, around 8am, a 50-year-old resident of Limassol was found injured next to his bicycle on the path.

The injured man was first taken by ambulance to the Limassol general hospital where he was determined to have suffered brain injury. The man was transferred to a private hospital in Limassol where he underwent surgery and was then placed on a ventilator with sedation. According to the treating doctors, his health condition is critical.

Police are asking for anyone who knows anything about the traffic accident to contact the Limassol police via phone on 25805252 or the citizen’s contact line at number 1460 or in person at the nearest police station.

Police are continuing investigations.
