42 more illegal migrants repatriated

Forty-two more third country nationals residing illegally on the island have been repatriated as part of a new operation by the aliens and immigration service, police said on Friday.

During the operation, which was carried out by members of the service’s Paphos branch, a total of 42 people from various third countries, returned to their countries of origin on three flights that departed from Larnaca airport.

“Since the beginning of the year, through various mandatory and voluntary repatriation operations, a total of 8,608 third-country nationals, who were illegally in Cyprus, returned to their countries of origin, while in comparison, throughout last year 2022, a total of 7,500 returned to their countries of origin third country nationals,” the announcement said.
