A third-floor apartment in Pallouriotissa, Nicosia, caught fire on Monday, resulting in damages to the veranda and a car parked below the four-storey building, as reported by the fire services.

Around 10.30 am, a passerby reported the fire, prompting the immediate response of the fire department, which dispatched three trucks and a telescopic platform to deal with the blaze.

The fire services confirmed to the Cyprus Mail that the apartment’s tenants were not present during the incident. The fire caused damage to the veranda and led to an item falling from the balcony, impacting a car below.

The fire was successfully extinguished within half an hour of receiving the call. The fire service statement assured that no individuals were trapped in the building at the time of the incident.

Firefighters will remain in the area to ventilate the building and monitor the situation, as mentioned in the announcement. Subsequently, an investigation will be initiated to determine the cause of the fire.
