The Meritta Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Centre announced on Tuesday it had released three turtles, which had been receiving treatment, back into the sea.
The turtles, named Tontik, Jale and Omer, had been receiving treatment at the centre in Karavas, and were able to return to the sea thanks to water temperatures being above seasonal norms.
Jale, aged between 40 and 45 years old, and Omer, aged between eight and 10 years old, had both been admitted to the centre due to drowning, while Tontik, aged between five and eight years old, had suffered a shell injury.
