A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Nicosia on Monday in connection with three burglaries and thefts that occurred over the past week, according to a police statement released on Tuesday.

The suspect has been remanded for six days by the Nicosia district court as the police continue their investigation.

The suspect was arrested after evidence was collected following a burglary and theft case that took place between August 9 and 10 at a café in the Aglandjia area, where a cash register box containing a small amount of money was stolen.

Following the suspect’s arrest, further police investigations revealed evidence linking him to two additional burglaries and thefts.

These include a burglary at a residence and another at a key-making shop, both of which took place on August 8.

Items reported stolen from the Aglandjia residence include jewellery and other valuables, while various items were allegedly stolen from the key-making shop in Nicosia.
