The “Let’s Go Troodos!” Festival kicked off on Saturday at 11am with a large turnout of visitors. The festival, aimed at promoting small businesses in the region, featured exhibitions and sales of traditional products and handicrafts.
Organised by First Lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides as part of her charity work, the event was held in cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the Office of the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities and the Press and Information Office.
The festival took place at the presidential summer residence in Troodos, which was open to the public for the first time. From 11 am to 5pm, visitors could sample traditional dishes, purchase local products and view handicrafts that celebrate Cypriot tradition.
A portion of the proceeds from product sales will be donated to support Rural Community Welfare Councils. Admission was free and complimentary transportation from Troodos Square was provided for the convenience of visitors.
