A 61-year-old European citizen has been remanded for seven days, pending investigations into the usurpation of Greek Cypriot property in the north.

Police spokesman Christos Andreou told the Cyprus News Agency that the 61-year-old woman had been arrested on Thursday on her arrival in Cyprus at Larnaca airport.

An arrest warrant had been pending for cases of conspiracy to commit a felony and extortion and fraudulent dealings in immovable property belonging to others, namely the usurpation of Greek Cypriot property in the north.

Andreou said police checks produced evidence against the woman, who was taken before a court on Friday, which ordered she remain in custody for seven days.

This is a new case not connected to any other case, Andreou said.
