Piano lovers and music enthusiasts, this upcoming October event is for you. Arriving soon to enrich Nicosia’s music scene is a piano recital by a celebrated musician of international acclaim. The Pharos Arts Foundation is bringing Yevgeny Sudbin to Cyprus for a special concert at the end of the month.

Returning to the island after six years, Sudbin will present an exquisite programme with works by Liszt, Scriabin, Scarlatti, Chopin, Debussy and Saint-Saens. Acclaimed for his virtuosity, consummate technique, emotional depth and intuition, the pianist is sure to captivate listeners at The Shoe Factory next week.

Sudbin is hailed by The Telegraph as “potentially one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century”, and he performs regularly in the world’s finest venues and concert series, collaborating with influential conductors like Neeme Järvi, Charles Dutoit, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Osmo Vänskä, Vassily Sinaisky.

His performances have been described as “riveting” and “profoundly moving”, while he has been confirmed as “a pianist of uncommon sensitivity and refinement, who has total confidence in his imaginative concept of each piece”, portrayed by the BBC Music Magazine as combining “the volcanic intensity of Vladimir Horowitz with the tonal reflexes of Mikhail Pletnev”.

Nicosia audiences will have the opportunity to witness his mastery up close as his intimate performance approaches soon.
