A unique safe-play knowledge game, a very festive setting, a popular presenter and lots of prizes, comprised 2024’s safe-play awareness activity by the National Betting Authority. The event took place at the Mall of Cyprus, on December 30, 2024, providing fun moments and gifts, while delivering significant information about the harmful consequences of betting and gambling.
The easy-to-play and enjoyable game was designed with the aim of making the public aware of safe betting practices. Participants had the chance to sit opposite the presenter and compete. By correctly answering three knowledge questions about safe betting, each participant won a token gift that they received directly from the National Betting Authority’s retro Christmas van located in the venue.
Through the flow of the awareness-raising game, the National Betting Authority passed on messages about the self-protection measures a gambler can take, highlighted the dangers of excessive betting and gambling, and provided information about ways to support and treat compulsive gambling.
The Authority’s aim is to ensure betting and gambling remains an enjoyable and safe past-time.
