The Cyprus Institute of Certified Management Consultants (CICMC) and the University of Limassol (UoL) this week announced that they have formalised their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
According to the announcement, the MoU aims “to foster a productive partnership between the two institutions”.
The signing ceremony was attended by Paris Mavrommatis, President of CICMC; Demetris Tsiropoulos, Secretary of CICMC; Theodoros Panayiotou, Rector of UoL; Ioanna Panayiotou, Chief Operating Officer of UoL; and Anastasia Kapsali, Director of Education at UoL.
CICMC, a member of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve), operates under the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI).
It is responsible for awarding the internationally recognised Certified Management Consultant (CMC) qualification in Cyprus.
In addition, ICMCI is the largest regulatory body for the management consulting profession globally, with members in over 40 countries.
Its mission is to enhance the role of professional management consultants and establish high-quality standards to ensure value-added services.
Meanwhile, the University of Limassol, formerly known as the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM), is officially recognised by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education.
The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes across three faculties.
These include the school of business administration, the school of technology and innovation, and the school of social and humanities studies.
UoL houses a Research Centre, an Executive Education Centre, and various specialised institutions.
Among these are the CIIM Bioeconomia Centre, which promotes sustainable development and green entrepreneurship, and the UoL Centre for ESG, which provides training and strategic consulting on sustainability, environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) matters.
Additionally, the Centre for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) focuses on promoting equality and inclusivity.
“This strategic partnership aims to integrate academia into the field of management consulting by facilitating research initiatives and organising joint activities,” the announcement said.
“The ultimate objective is to encourage and develop the profession of management consulting in Cyprus,” it added.
As part of the collaboration, UoL will offer scholarships to employees of CICMC member companies, focusing on human capital development and the adoption of new technologies and knowledge.
In return, CICMC will confer the title of Associate CMC upon UoL graduates who aspire to become certified management consultants, further enhancing professional opportunities within the sector.
