Cyprus is celebrating a historic moment for the sport of bridge, after the national team won the bronze medal at the 17th European Small Federations Games which were recently held at the Caro Hotel in Bucharest, Romania.

It is the first ever medal for the Cyprus bridge team in the event’s history.

An epic battle of mind, strategy and teamwork led the Cyprus team to a place on the podium, filling every Cypriot with pride!

The event, hosted under the auspices of the European Bridge League (EBL) and the Romanian Bridge Federation (FRB), brought together 16 national teams. 

Cyprus, with a team that combined experience and youthful dynamism, managed to stand out, leaving its mark on the competitive map. 

The Cyprus team, with crystal clear concentration and unparalleled skill, won bronze in a competition where every decision counted.

The team, with the support of the Cyprus Bridge Federation and KOA, proved that bridge is not just a game, but a way of life. Its the number one mind sport in the world.

The bronze medal adds to Cyprus` notable participation in international events, such as the full European Games and the Small Federations Games, and is a milestone for the further development of the sport on the island. The event in Bucharest, with the participation of almost 100 players from all over Europe, highlighted bridge as a mind sport that unites people and cultures, and Cyprus was there, high up, holding our flag with honour.
