The sirens went off once again in Akrotiri and residents received an sms concerning an ongoing security threat.

The alert was over a few minutes later.

“There is an ongoing security threat. Please remain indoors and stay in place until further official notice. Move away from windows and take cover behind or beneath substantial, solid furniture. Please await further instruction,” the message read.

They then received an sms saying, “The current security incident has concluded. Restrictions on movement have been removed.”
