The Paphos regional board of tourism (Etap) has outlined its ongoing efforts to promote the district as a domestic holiday destination, following its participation in the “Taxidi” travel fair 2026 in Nicosia.
The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen domestic tourism in Cyprus and position the district as an all-year-round destination combining nature, culture and authenticity.
The organisation confirmed that its domestic tourism promotion campaign continues dynamically throughout the summer, primarily through social media platforms, following the successful nationwide Easter holiday campaign.
The participation in the exhibition was described as a key step in highlighting Paphos as an ideal destination for short getaways across all seasons, targeting residents seeking local travel options.
The travel fair took place at the Cyprus State Fair Grounds in Nicosia from April 17 to April 19, 2026, attracting strong visitor turnout over the three-day event.
According to the announcement, “Paphos successfully achieved its objectives at the exhibition, further reinforcing its position among the top domestic holiday choices for Cyprus residents“.
“Our efforts to promote Paphos as a holiday destination continue without interruption, aiming to attract domestic visitors and strengthen the district’s tourism appeal,” said Nasos Hadjigeorgiou, head of the Paphos regional board of tourism.
He added that the organisation continues to invite all residents of Cyprus to choose local holidays, emphasising the value of discovering destinations within the island.
“We invite residents to holiday within Cyprus and visit the cosmopolitan destination of Paphos, discovering its authentic charm and diverse experiences throughout the year,” Hadjigeorgiou said.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the authentic character of the region through its countryside, traditional villages and cultural heritage, offering a distinct tourism experience.
Particular emphasis is placed on the unique natural landscape of the Akamas Peninsula and the villages of Laona, which showcase the area’s environmental and cultural richness.
The tourism board also highlighted the extensive coastline of the district, stretching from Kouklia, Geroskipou, Paphos, Chloraka and Peyia, and continuing through Neo Chorio, Latchi and Polis Chrysochous, before reaching Argaka, Pomos and Pyrgos Tyllirias.
This geographical diversity allows visitors to enjoy a combination of coastal beauty, rural landscapes and traditional communities, all within a single destination.
“Visitors can experience Paphos through a blend of relaxation and exploration, wandering through picturesque communities, discovering natural beauty, swimming in crystal-clear waters and enjoying warm hospitality in every corner of the region” Hadjigeorgiou said.
The organisation stressed that such experiences underline the region’s ability to offer a holistic tourism product that combines leisure, nature and culture, appealing to a wide range of domestic travellers.
The campaign aims to further establish Paphos as a leading choice for domestic tourism, while encouraging residents to rediscover the island through sustainable and authentic travel experiences.
