Bowlers once again stole the spotlight at the 2026 Cyprus Cricket T20 Cup, presented by Hurry Curry, as a thrilling Super Sunday featuring 14 teams delivered high drama, highlighted by Markhor’s dramatic super over victory against Gujrat Lions. Chasing a target of 11 in the super over, Markhor got there on the penultimate delivery without losing a wicket. Earlier, both sides had been dismissed for 101. Markhor owed much to Rauf Zaman’s 25 after their top order struggled, while Aftab Alam starred with the ball, claiming 4 for 16. Gujrat Lions looked out of contention at 45 for 8, but captain Sohail Ahmad (30) and Prashant Patel (28) mounted a spirited recovery with a crucial fifty partnership for the ninth wicket.

In an all-Bangladeshi contest between Limassol-based Cyprus Knight Riders and Nicosia-based Nicosia Capitals, the Knight Riders secured a tense two-wicket win. Nicosia Capitals captain Iftekar Jaman, formerly of Knight Riders, endured a frustrating outing as his side dropped key chances in a low-scoring affair. Capitals were bowled out for 81 in 16 overs, with Touhid Hasan returning impressive figures of 4 for 9. In reply, Knight Riders chased down the target in 16.2 overs, thanks largely to Sayeed Shuv’s 21 after they had slumped to 45 for 7.

Punjab Lions recorded one of the most dominant wins of the weekend, overpowering Lankan Sport Club after posting the highest total of the round — 158 for 8. Samsam Farid led the charge with a fortunate but valuable 62. Lankan Sport Club never looked in contention and were bundled out for just 52 in 13.2 overs.

The battle of the Warriors saw Limassol Warriors emerge victorious over Larnaca Warriors by 25 runs. Batting first, Limassol posted 137 for 6, anchored by Vikram’s 55. Larnaca Warriors were dismissed for 112 in 18.2 overs, with Takdeer Kundu taking 3 for 22.

Telugu 11 continued their strong start to the season with a second consecutive win, defeating Amdocs by six wickets. Amdocs captain Chaitas Shah was the lone bright spot with the bat as his side managed only 77 in 15.3 overs. Sankar Mekala, after contributing two wickets, top-scored with 35 to guide Telugu 11 to victory in the 15th over.

British Forces Cyprus (BFC) celebrated their first win of the season in style against New Limassol Moufflons. A commanding batting display from Bidan Gurung (69*) and Dwayne Brown (46) powered BFC past Moufflons’ total of 150 in just 14.1 overs. Their 126-run partnership sealed an eight-wicket win. Earlier, Muhammad Sufian top-scored with 60 for Moufflons, while BFC captain Ronnie Defraites took 3 for 24.

At Dhekelia, Kurt Findlay’s remarkable hat-trick helped 4Scotts defend 10 runs in the final over to beat Moufflons in another nail-biter. 4Scotts posted 126 all out in 19.1 overs, with Amanpreet scoring 52. Moufflons captain Sujith Thennakoon fought hard with 45, while Soban Tariq’s late cameo nearly turned the game around, but his side ultimately fell short by nine runs.

Despite the excitement on the field, league officials reminded teams about maintaining the spirit of the game, addressing concerns over slow over rates and other disciplinary matters from the weekend.
