The ‘Pangolin Men’ saving world’s most trafficked mammal

This video presents the dedicated men who care for the most trafficked mammal in the world – the pangolin.

Committed minders from the The Tikki Hywood Trust in Zimbabwe work hard to protect the species, with a one-on-one care programme. The charity workers are assigned one pangolin each, spending 24 hours a day rehabilitating and walking the majestic mammals, so that they can forage naturally.

Pangolins, which are native to Africa and Asia, are one of the world’s most endangered species, with over one million killed every year for their scales, meat and blood. They are the only mammals wholly-covered in scales, which they use to protect themselves from predators in the wild.
