Police seize more than two kilos of cannabis, arrest two suspects

More than two kilos of cannabis were seized by police in Nicosia on Thursday and two men were arrested in connection with the case.

Members of the drug squad who were surveilling the home of a 37-year-old man in Nicosia saw the owner handing over a package to the driver of a car belonging to a 28-year-old who arrived at 5pm.

The officers immediately intervened and seized the package which contained one kilo of cannabis.

When they searched the car they found a mobile phone and €1,230 which were also confiscated.

The 37-year-old had a mobile phone and a small amount of cocaine on him.

In his house and car, the members of the drug squad discovered another 1.3 kilos of cannabis and €1,500.

Both men were arrested at the scene.
