How this celeb-favourite hat-maker designs his $1,000 headwear

In this video, we meet Venice Beach-based Nick Fouquet, a hat-maker who crafts unique headwear for celebrities and hat fans alike.

Having designed custom pieces for celebrities like Lady Gaga, Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams, Fouquet describes himself as having a “Huck Finn spirit, part Native American and part psychedelic adventurer”.

And the unusual character of his brand has no shortage of devotees. Despite the pressures placed on the fashion industry by Covid, his online business has increased 300% since the outbreak of the pandemic, with about a 25% hike in wholesale orders.

As for the prices of the goods he creates, Fouquet’s Ecuadorian straw hats begin at $600, while his felt headwear range between $1,200 to $1,600.
