The fire service sent two engines on Sunday on the request by the British bases to help put out a fire in a quarry in Xylofagou.

According to the spokesman of the fire service, Andreas Kettis, the fire erupted on a machine, piles of wood and a truck. The bases asked for help at around 1.40 pm, and the fire service sent two engines from its Xylofagou and Oroklini stations.

Kettis said the fire was manageable.
