Coronavirus: Vaccination portals open for those aged 39-42 (Updated)

Vaccination appointments will be made available to those aged 39-42 from April 27-29, the health ministry announced on Monday.

Specifically, 42-year-olds will have the opportunity to book their appointment on Tuesday, April 27, from the online portal which will be made available from 7:30am until 8pm.

For the 41-year-olds, the same procedure can be followed on Wednesday, April 28.

Finally, those aged 39-40 can book their vaccination appointment on Thursday, April 29.

The health ministry emphasised that appointments will only be made available to the age groups specified above.

Later on Monday, the health ministry released data related to the vaccine take-up over the past few days.

Specifically, on Saturday 7,061 appointments were booked (of the 12,866 available for the 57-58-year-old group), on Sunday 7,147 were booked (of the 12,328 available for the 59-60 group) and on Monday as of 16:30 there were 9,652 appointments made (from the 13,680 for the 43-44 group).

As of April 25, a total of 241,700 (27.5 per 100) vaccinations have taken place and according to the ECDC 23.2 per cent have received their first dose; with 8.3 per cent having received both.
