In this video, we learn that between 2014 and 2020, juvenile great white sharks moved approximately 373 miles north in California waters, into marine areas that were previously too cold for them to thrive.

Thanks to climate change, as warming seas shrink the species’ typical range of movement, the shift is upsetting ecosystems in places like Monterey Bay. The phenomenon is forcing predators and prey into closer living quarters, and reportedly contributing to declines in fish populations like salmon.
