Indy appeal endures: ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ turns 40

With Harrison Ford slipping back into character and the fifth installment in the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise beginning production, Entertainment Tonight spoke to actress Karen Allen – Ford’s co-star in the original and fourth of the films – to reflect on the appeal of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, 40 years after its release.

The fifth and final movie in the series is being helmed by director James Mangold, and is slated for release in July 2022.

‘Fleabag’ star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has also joined the cast, while John Williams, who has scored every Indiana Jones movie since ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, is returning as the film’s composer.
