How a neglected lamb and rescue dog became besties

Every pet deserves a loving and respectful home: please only consider acquiring a pet if you will be able to take care of its long-term needs. Also, consider choosing your animal companion from a shelter, where there are so many wonderful furry friends who need a forever home.

A selection of Cyprus animal shelters, as well as their locations, can be found here.

Franklin was a ram lamb rejected by his mother, and his prospects looked grim… that is, until Emily and Trevor McCann, owners of The Open Barn Sanctuary in Ramona, California, took him in.

But while Franklin adapted to his new home quickly, responding to the love and care of his new family, the real turning point came when the McCanns adopted a stray dog they named Takoda.

Today, the two animals are best friends, able to live free of the threat of abandonment and danger.
