Arson investigation launched after fire at Covid tests lab

blog post 02

Police and the fire service are investigating arson after a fire broke out at a private lab which carries out Covid-19 rapid tests in the early hours on Monday in Kiti.

Two fire engines responded to the fire, after plastic equipment was set alight outside the laboratory at 4.30am.

The fire appears to have been started maliciously, as flammable material was found at the scene.

Police collected some evidence for additional scientific examinations.

A statement was also taken from the manager of the lab.
