Coronavirus: Cyprus reaches 80% adult vaccination coverage

Health ministry figures released on Thursday show that by November 3, double jabbed people had reached 80 per cent of the adult population.

The ministry said that 82.3 per cent had received their first dose.

Figures show that 42.8 per cent of those aged 16 and 17 have had a first dose as have 29 per cent of the 12-15 age group.

Paphos continues to be the most compliant with 90.7 per cent double jabbed, followed by the Famagusta district with 89.3 per cent, Nicosia with 79.2 per cent, Limassol with 78.6 per cent and Larnaca with 74.6 per cent.

As regards the booster dose, 33,485 injections were given to people 60 and over. Some 3,345 health professionals received the booster as well as 2,730 people in nursing homes.
