A minute with Adrianella Nicolaou Singer

minute

Where do you live?
In Nicosia with the man I love, he supports me and he is always by my side.

What did you have for breakfast?
Whole grain cereal with chocolate oat milk

Describe your perfect day
Good company, a romantic walk, relaxing and nice food.

Best book ever read?
Psychologist and author Leo Buscaglia’s Loving Each Other. I love this book because the author proclaims that human relationships are a science that must be taught and learned since through it, we can discover in depth ourselves and new possibilities for our relationships with those around us.

Best childhood memory?
At the age of 9 when I won CyBC’s first children’s song contest. A moment that will forever remain in my heart, since it was my first reward in this crazy love I had for singing.

What is always in your fridge?
I always have zero-cola

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
In the car I hear everything, of course it always depends on the mood of the day, but mostly I like to listen to English ballads.

What’s your spirit animal?
The spirit animal that I identify with is the lion because I consider myself terribly dynamic (in cases where it is needed) but also calm at the same time.

What are you most proud of?
I am proud of many things in my life. Firstly, because I managed to have remarkable people by my side, secondly because through the hardships of my life I learned to be a spirit of reason with tremendous empathy. Practically, I am proud of my master’s degree which I finished with honours and so a lot of work and the hours of reading did not go to waste.

What movie scene has really stayed with you?
My favourite movie is A Star is Born with Lady Gaga. My favourite scene is when, in the finale of the film, she sings the song her husband had written for her. Very touching moment!

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
Michael Jackson since I consider him the greatest star of all time and as a singer that I am it would be a great experience.

If you could time travel when/where would you go?
I would go back to the 50s, somewhere in America, since I consider this era romantic and it would fit perfectly with my personality.

What is your greatest fear?
Loneliness

What would you say to your 18-year-old self?
I would never go out on a 2nd date with a man who constantly brags and lacks empathy. The people I want by my side I want to be humble and kind-hearted.

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
I’d choose to be with the people I love. Also, I would like to say an apology to the people I unwittingly hurt and a thank you to those who offered me all this to be the person I am today.
