The island is set to bask in temperatures higher than average for the time of year where those inland could reach 40C on Friday.
The pattern is set to continue into the weekend when temperatures inland set to rise as high as 41C on both Saturday and Sunday.
According to the Met office, the temperature elsewhere is set to reach 32C on the west coast, 35C on other coasts and 30C in the mountains.
Overnight the temperature will fall to 24C on the west coast, 25C inland and 20C on the mountains.
Some relief is expected on Monday when the temperature will return to seasonal norms.
Meanwhile, the forestry department issued a red warning for the weekend, saying the risk of fire is very high. At the same time they called on the public to only light fires for cooking food in designated areas.
