United by Sound back for first event of the year

1 (1)

Good vibes and live music are what the Home for Cooperation will bring in the upcoming United by Sound Winter Edition. UbS for short is a peacebuilding programme of the Home for Cooperation implemented by the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research and funded by the Active Citizens Fund. In other words, it consists of live music events that bring together musicians and fans from across the divide. Kickstarting the 2023 edition is an evening at The Home on January 13.

The event will host the Island Seeds and the captivating amalgam of musicians, Della’s band. The two bands will come together at the intimate space of the Home Café to perform live. Island Seeds are bringing their psychedelic-soul grooves to Home for Cooperation, where they first got together in April of 2021 under the United by Sound programme. After their maiden jam for Home’s ten-year festivities sprouted several song demos, this diverse group of artists put down roots to their collaboration and musical exploration with a steadier set-up. Groovy slow jams, psychedelic funk-infused melodies and deliciously coloured vocals define the sound of one of Cyprus’ most unique musical groups.

Performer Della writes raw, honest and, at times, self-deprecating lyrics, delivered with captivating depth and biting overtones. She pulls in listeners with her emotive lyricism intertwined with catchy melodies that are an intricate blend of garage rock, jazz and indie pop. Della’s band sets the perfect tone for a sensual, intimate and electric performance that is guaranteed to satisfy.
