A large fire broke out on Sunday morning in the Apesia area of Limassol, the fire services announced, bringing it under control later in the afternoon.
According to fire services spokesman Andreas Kettis, five aircraft have been called in to deal with the blaze, along with three fire trucks. He added that the fire burnt four hectares of wild brush.
The ground forces were supported by trucks from the forestry department.
The fire burned dry, wild brush, and ground forces kept the fire away from isolated homes in the area and a solar park.
