An aeronautical military exercise with Cyprus, Greece, France and Italy called Enomia 5-2024 was successfully held to the southwest of the island between September 12 and Wednesday, the defence ministry said.

The exercise, which involved personnel and assets from the National Guard and the Greek, French and Italian Armed Forces, examined maritime interdiction, anti-aircraft operations, surface and anti-submarine warfare operations, operations against asymmetric threats, search and rescue operations, as well as the tactical component of civilian evacuation operations and a cyber warfare exercise.

The purpose of the exercise was to maintain and improve interoperability and cooperation between the armed forces of the four countries and to strengthen the joint naval and air presence in the Eastern Mediterranean area, with the aim of ensuring security and stability in the wider region.
