The Cyprus problem and the Middle East were on the agenda of a meeting on Wednesday between President Nikos Christodoulides and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani in New York.
Ways to enhance bilateral relations were also discussed, focusing on the economy, security, education and infrastructure.
They also reviewed progress made in the framework of memoranda and agreements signed in 2023.
Furthermore, they looked into a potential visit by Christodoulides to Baghdad.
On Thursday, Christodoulides will be continuing meetings in New York, with the UNHCR high commissioner, the Council of Europe secretary general, a Chevron delegation and the Chinese foreign minister.
He will also meet a delegation of the American Jewish Committee and will attend a dinner at the American Express Club.
