There is so much going on this weekend – we always say it but this weekend is particularly busy wrapping up an eventful September. Limassol in particular is bursting with events and festivals, while Nicosia, Larnaca and even Paphos have a rather rich events agenda as well. Plenty to choose from this weekend!

An array of annual festivals and happenings will fill Limassol’s centre this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Rialto Theatre will host the 3rd Cyprus Choreography Showcase presenting selected pieces by local artists and choreographers across the three days, starting Friday.

Today, the 12th edition of Sardam Interdisciplinary Festival kicks off, bringing a diverse range of literary events, performances and workshops around Limassol. Poetry workshops, installations, literature performances, songwriting seminars in English and so much more will unfold throughout the weekend.

The Warehouse by ITQuarter will host the Dream Cars Show 2024 this Saturday, a must-visit festival for car enthusiasts. This year, 100 cars or so will be displayed, ranging from different eras and coming from private collections and museums. The festival will also have a food court with street food vendors, DJ music and performances.

At Plevsis Hall in the old port, the TEDxMolos Women will highlight women’s stories with six inspirational speakers taking the stage to talk about this year’s theme Soft Power: New Era of Leadership.

Of course, the biggest and probably the most important event happening in Limassol this weekend is the annual Limassol Wine Festival which will kick off on Saturday evening. The Municipal Gardens will fill with local winemakers and labels, exhibitions, local delicacies and a stage which will present a local music and dance programme until October 6 when the festival concludes.

Nicosia too will offer a rich cultural programme this weekend highlighting its multiculturalism and youth initiatives. Most events will take place on Saturday. Acropolis Park will fill with stands, tech corners, inspiring chats and live music as the 8th edition of Up To YOU(th) Festival takes place. Over at the Nicosia Municipal Gardens, the very first edition of Antama Festival will bring plenty of Cypriot traditional vibes. A feast inspired by Cyprus’ tradition and local feasts, local bands will play traditional music encouraging people to get up and dance – island style. Workshops and demonstrations on local crafts also aim to bring people closer to handicrafts. Bringing a taste of Indian Culture, the Ganeshotsav 2024 event will present an evening of music and dancing celebrating Lord Ganesha and presenting a snippet of a beloved Indian celebration.

In Gialia, Paphos, the Ecstatic Dance Festival will bring together a local and international crowd for a week of dancing, workshops and movement classes. From Sunday to October 4, Val’s Place will welcome visitors for ecstatic dance parties with DJs, concerts, circle singing, yoga, breathwork and more. In Larnaca, the second edition of the Larnaka Jazz Festival will return to Zouhouri Square with three jazzy performances each evening, under the artistic curation of Akis Farmakallides.
