An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was recorded overnight by the geological survey department of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The earthquake which happened on Thursday night at 10.53pm was centered in the sea area, 45 km southeast of the city of Larnaca, and had a focal depth of 20 km.

It was felt by residents in the Larnaca district and elsewhere.

Two days ago on Wednesday a magnitude 5 earthquake was felt in Paphos, Kyrenia and Limassol.
