Orchestra to bring film soundtracks to Cyprus

The most thrilling music from renowned, award-winning films is coming to theatres all over Cyprus soon, brought to life by the famous Ukrainian symphony orchestra, the Lords of The Sound. Arriving on the island in January, the orchestra will present two programmes – the Music of Hans Zimmer and Lord of the Rings. With less than a month to go, some shows are already sold out!

First up is a special programme that brings together the best compositions of Hans Zimmer. In four concerts in Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos, audiences will listen to remarkable live music from films such as Dune, The Dark Knight, Sherlock Holmes, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lion King and more. And it will not just be musicians bringing these powerful tunes to the stage.

Accompanying them will be the powerful vocal parts of soloists and a choir that performs with the orchestra. One show is scheduled for Limassol on January 9, two in Nicosia on January 11 and 13 and one in Paphos on January 12, which is already fully sold out.

Then, the same orchestra will present another programme filled with cheerful melodies of hobbits and ominous sounds of Mordor. The Lords of the Rings in Concert shows includes the Oscar-winning music of Howard Shore, written for the famous film trilogy blending aethereal sounds, earthy songs of the elves and powerful compositions of tales and knights. Three shows will be on, one in Limassol on January 10, one in Nicosia on January 11 and one in Paphos on the following afternoon.
