Following a complaint from a company director, police in Limassol are looking into a fraud case involving the theft of €700,000. A 45-year-old man was taken into custody by police on Monday as part of the ongoing investigation and is presently being held in custody.
The suspect had been working with the company from 2017 to 2023, based on preliminary findings. He is accused of forging contracts and receipts during this time to defraud the business. It was reported that the amounts on the fake receipts were less than what he had really received.
Several statements from people involved in the case have been obtained by investigators since the complaint was submitted.
The Limassol CID’s economic crime investigation office is overseeing the inquiry and is still collecting information and witness statements.
