Mountainous villages in the Paphos region have called for a fully staffed ambulance station, operational around the clock, to be set up in Statos Ayios Photiou, as well as an ambulance for the Panayia health centre.

President of the mountainous communities complex and community leader of Statios Ayios Photiou, Michalis Kimonos, said it was necessary to have ambulances stationed in the area to immediately respond to emergency calls and take people to Paphos general hospital.

Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency, Kimonos said the absence of ambulances was not the only problem the mountainous community was experiencing and referred to dangerous roads, unallocated plots of land and the shortage of water.
