One of Greece’s most beloved comedians returns to our island to present her brand-new show, Derbederissa. Following her successful shows in Cyprus in 2024, retelling the horrific yet incredibly comic way she Almost Died, as her previous show is called, she returns with new material ready to spread laughter. Two performances, in Greek, are planned for Nicosia and Limassol.

“Seven years after she Almost Died, survived, and became disabled,” say the organisers, “the beloved stand-up comedian returns with brand-new, hilarious material, where she reflects on where she is and where we are today.”

In her Derbederissa show, Vrana delves into what it is like to be a woman and a comedian, touching on stereotypes and gender biases, how (and if) her disability has influenced her character, femininity, sexuality, and sense of humour. Sprinkled throughout the show are life’s small and big joys that should be celebrated and acknowledged.

March 21’s show at Strovolos Theatre and March 22’s show at Rialto Theatre will be a deeply honest and funny exploration of the reality of society today and often-unspoken experiences as viewed through Vrana’s comic lens.
