The enlarged meeting on the Cyprus problem will take place in Geneva at midday on Tuesday, where President Nikos Christodoulides hopes for an agreement to resume stalled negotiations for a settlement.

The conference will be preceded by a bilateral meeting between Christodoulides and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who will be holding meetings with all participating parties.

The enlarged meeting on March 17 and 18 in Geneva will see both Cyprus’ sides as well as representatives of the island’s three guarantor powers, Greece, Turkey, and the UK, and the United Nations, convene to discuss the Cyprus problem.

Christodoulides will be departing for Geneva on March 16 in the afternoon.

In Geneva, the president will preside over a National Council meeting on Monday at midday and at 8pm will attend a dinner hosted by Guterres.

His bilateral meeting with Guterres is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Tuesday’s enlarged meeting will begin at 12.30pm at Palais des Nations and is expected to be wrapped up by 3.30pm.

In the evening, the president will depart for Brussels for the European Council.

In Geneva, the president will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis, Deputy European Affairs Minister Marilena Raouna, negotiator Menelaos Menelaou, national security advisor Tasos Tzionis, director of the president’s press office Victoras Papadopoulos and director of his diplomatic office Doros Venezis, inter alia.

Attorney general George Savvides, former president Nicos Anastasiades, House president and Disy leader Annita Demetriou, Akel general secretary Stefanos Stefanou, Diko president Nicolas Papadopoulos, Edek president Marinos Sizopoulos, Dipa president Marios Karoyian and Green Party representative Kyriakos Tsimillis will also be present.
