As the Francophonie month ends, the Pharos Arts Foundation collaborates with the Institut Français de Chypre to present an evening of French chamber music. On April 2, the young, fabulous and all-female Quatuor Magenta will perform at The Shoe Factory alongside violinist David Haroutunian and pianist Théo Fouchenneret.

The multi-winning Quatuor Magenta, consisting of four female musicians, is ensemble-in-residence at ProQuartet – Centre Européen de Musique de Chambre, and has been described by newspaper La Croix as “a model of technical discipline, elegance and musical excellence”.

As April arrives, they will travel to Cyprus for this concert, eager to share the floor with two more prominent musicians. David Haroutunian has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras, including the National Philharmonic Orchestras of Armenia and Russia, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, and the Strasbourg Philharmonic, and has appeared in important venues all over the world, including the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Carnegie Hall, and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

Pianist Théo Fouchenneret – winner of the First Prize of the 2018 Geneva International Piano Competition – has also performed in the most prestigious concert venues such as Philharmonie de Paris, Salle Cortot, Salle Gaveau, and Sala Verdi in Milan.

On April 2, the six musicians will perform an impressive programme comprising Ernest Chausson’s Concerto for Violin, Piano & String Quartet in D major, Schumann’s deeply personal and lyrical String Quartet in A minor Op.41, No.1, and Franck’s seminal Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major.
