Written exams for the certificate of professional competence (CPC) for lorry and bus drivers will soon be available in English, the transport ministry announced on Wednesday.

This change is aimed at increasing accessibility for non-Greek-speaking drivers and “in order to enhance accessibility”, the ministry said.

As of now, drivers were only able to take the exams in either Greek or Turkish. With the addition of English, the ministry said it would ensure equal opportunities and to “create a more fair functional and more accessible training and certification system” to ensure a high level of competence and road safety.
