More than 300 Cypriots living abroad have registered on the ‘Minds in Cyprus’ platform in less than two weeks since its launch, the president’s office said on Wednesday in a post on X.
“The government initiative ‘Minds in Cyprus’ launched within the framework of the ‘brain gain’ strategy, is already showing positive results,” said the announcement.
According to the post, the platform aims to serve as a bridge between the government and Cypriots living and working abroad and has attracted considerable interest.
“In less than two weeks, more than 300 Cypriots from 23 countries registered on the platform to find jobs matching their profiles, demonstrating the momentum of the initiative,” it said.
Tax incentive measures attempt to make returning to Cyprus even more attractive. Tax exemption on first employment income has increased from 20 per cent to 25 per cent, along with the tax exception limit increasing from €8,550 to €25,000 per year.
‘Minds in Cyprus’ was introduced as an incentive scheme back in May to lure Cypriot expats back into the island, aiming to attract talent in science, technology and finance.
The website was launched on August 26, offering job listings, personalised job opportunities and detailed information for returnees, as part of the preparations for the island’s EU Council presidency on January 2026.
