The foreign ministry on Saturday urged Cypriot citizens in the wider Middle East region to “remain vigilant” and to “closely monitor developments”, with the United States and Israel launching attacks on Iran, and Iran retaliating with attacks on US military infrastructure in the region.

It advised them to remain aware of “information from the local authorities” in whichever country they may find themselves, and to monitor “international and local media”, while “implementing maximum protection measures”.

Additionally, Cypriots who are located in the region are invited to register their presence on the island’s Connect2CY online platform, while the ministry offered the contact details of Cypriot embassies in the region, should Cypriot citizens require their assistance.
