The Larnaca criminal court sentenced a 41-year-old man to five years in prison on Thursday after found guilty of accessing and possessing child porn material.

The man was arrested last May, when after a search in his home, electronic child porn files were located.

More than 20,000 files with child porn were found on his laptop, tablet, mobile phone and eight hard disks.

The search in his house was initiated after suspicion that the 41-year-old was accessing child porn online.

He had remained in custody at the central prisons until his trial.
