One death and 102 new cases of the coronavirus were announced on Saturday.
The health ministry said the death was of a woman, 73, with underlying health conditions. This brings the number of deaths from coronavirus to 220: 148 men and 72 women, with the average age at 79 years.
There are 84 people in hospital with 29 in serious condition. Seventeen patients are intubated.
The 102 cases were among 32,310 tests, PCR and rapid tests. The positivity rate is now at 0.32 per cent.
Twelve cases were detected through contact tracing while one case was among samples taken from passengers arriving at the Larnaca and Paphos airports.
Ten cases were among people who got tested privately and four are samples processed in state hospitals’ labs. Another two cases were people who were found positive after getting rapid tests in private labs.
In total 73 cases were detected among 29,712 rapid tests.
Among rapid tests given in Limassol, 43 people were found positive with the district recording a positivity rate of 0.52 per cent. In Nicosia, 15 cases were detected (0.12 per cent), 11 in Larnaca (0.24 per cent), three in Paphos (0.12per cent) and one in the Famagusta district (0.07 per cent).
This brings the total number of cases to 32,390.
