Police booked 220 individuals and two businesses for flouting coronavirus protocols in a day, from 6am on Sunday until 6am on Monday.

During this time, 11,816 checks were carried out, 2,879 in Nicosia, 2,265 in Limassol, 1,646 in Larnaca, 1,566 in Paphos, 1,492 in Famagusta and 973 in Morphou.

A total of 37 people were booked in Nicosia, 91 in Limassol, 29 in Larnaca, 30 in Paphos, 18 in Famagusta and six in the Morphou district.

As a result of 933 inspections traffic police fined nine people.
