Asked this week by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel to comment, Hollywood actor Liam Neeson shut down talk he would appear in the upcoming Disney+ series ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’.
By contrast, Neeson’s former ‘Phantom Menace’ cast-mate Ewan McGregor will feature in the new series, directed by Deborah Chow, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master. Neeson’s character, Qui-Gon Jinn, had been killed off in the 1999 film.
“I heard Ewan McGregor was going to do a series,” Neeson said. “No, I don’t think so. No, I haven’t been approached.”
Story-wise, the new series begins 10 years after the events of ‘Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith’, where Kenobi’s Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker became evil Sith Lord Darth Vader – to be played, once again, by Hayden Christensen.
