Police on Monday were investigating after they found illegal means of trapping birds as well as three live protected birds in the possession of a 29-year-old man.

According to an announcement, officers stopped the car of the suspect for a check in the area of Kounieris near Kelokedara in Paphos.

They found a net for trapping birds and a metal cage with three goldfinches during a search in his car.

The birds were photographed and then delivered to the game service to be released, police said.
