Parents who consent for their five to 11-year-old children to receive the Covid-19 vaccine will be able to do so from December 17, the health ministry said on Wednesday as they released details of the procedures.

From Friday, parents can book an appointment by calling child welfare centres across the island to reserve a slot, while from Tuesday, 21 December, the process will move online, and bookings will only be made available via the vaccination portal.

The centres, times, dates, and phone numbers per district are listed below.

For Nicosia: Latsia health centre, Monday and Tuesday, between 8am-2pm (22 849150, 22 467496).

For Limassol: Old Limassol hospital, Monday and Friday, between 8am-2pm (25 829031). A second location in Limassol, the Kyperounta vaccination centre, will be operational on Monday afternoon between 1pm-5pm (25 813200).

For Larnaca: Old Larnaca hospital, Wednesday and Friday, between 8am-2pm (24 818047).

For Paphos: Paphos hospital, Wednesday and Friday, 8am-2pm (26 803246). A second location in Paphos, the child welfare centre in Polis Chrysochous, will be operational on Tuesday and Friday between 9am-2pm (26 803246).

For Famagusta: Famagusta general hospital, Wednesday and Friday, between 8am-2pm (23 200063).

The health minister added that the benefits outweigh the risks of children receiving the vaccine and stated that the doses are one third of those administered to people aged 12 and above.
