Hellenic HQ lit orange to mark September leukaemia initiative

Orange is not only associated with positive energy, but is also the colour of the fight against leukaemia.

On the occasion of September ‘Leukaemia Month’, the Hellenic Bank has planned various actions, among which is using orange light to signal how we can contribute and support the work of the Karaiskakio Foundation, dedicated to a world without leukaemia.

For the whole of this month, the Hellenic Bank’s headquarters, on the corner of Nicosia’s Limassol and Athalassa avenues, is being lit up in orange, coinciding with the release of an orange bracelet by the Karaiskakio Foundation, designed by Chrysanthos Tziapouras, calling the public to #GoOrangeForALife.

The orange wristband is available for purchase from the Karaiskakio Foundation’s online store at this link, and at various points of sale in all cities.

Children and their future are a key pillar in Hellenic’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, with the Bank over recent years having become a proud ‘Ally for Life’, supporting the work of the Karaiskakio Foundation.

Among its actions, Hellenic has sponsored the Foundation’s donor award ceremony, as well as ‘Leukaemia Month’, and backed the provision of Self-Recruitment Stations to collect samples from bone marrow donors.

The Bank has also supported bone marrow donation drives organised by Karaiskakio staff for the Cyprus Volunteer Bone Marrow Donor Archive, and donated a modern molecular analyser CFX Opus System by Bio-Rad to the Foundation’s Childhood Cancer Research Centre.
