Gipsy Kings to perform in Cyprus this spring

Flamenco, salsa and pop rhythms performed live by world-famous musicians from southern France are coming to the island this spring as the Gipsy Kings head down for a one-night-only concert. The popular band, who mostly perform in Catalan, Spanish and southern French dialects, will be brought to Cyprus by Moonlight Show Productions for a colourful show in Limassol this May.

“Legendary bands include Cyprus in their World Tour all the more frequently the past few years,” say organisers, “and this has been a great achievement by Moonlight Show Productions. This year, the successful Cypriot production company has managed to secure the Gipsy Kings. They will be in Cyprus for a unique performance on Friday, May 26 at Monte Caputo in Limassol, taking their fans on an exciting journey with their uplifting music and their famous songs such as Djobi Djoba, Bamboleo and Volare!

“The story of the Gipsy Kings admittedly resembles a fairy tale,” they add. “In 1970 a group of friends started experimenting with different sounds in a village in the West of France, gradually conquered the world, from Finland to Australia, USA, to Japan, Chile and beyond. With its flamenco-rooted pop style, the band has managed to sell more than 25 million records and has won several Grammys and Latin Grammys. Having last released an album over eight years ago, Gipsy Kings founder member Tonino Baliardo returned in 2022 with breath-taking new album Renaissance. Across the 11 tracks on this new album, it is clear that the passion still burns strong inside Tonino Baliardo and his family of Gipsy Kings.”

The pre-sale launch of a limited number of tickets for the Cyprus concert will begin on January 24 via the tickethour website, giving the opportunity to fans to obtain their tickets and enjoy unique moments with the Gipsy Kings, live on stage!
